Western Cape traffic authorities had their hands full on Wednesday when a rockfall led to the closure of Chapman's Peak Drive, and parts of the N1 near De Doorns and Worcester were closed due to two truck accidents.
According to provincial traffic chief Kenny Africa, one truck crashed on the N1 near De Doorns on Wednesday morning.
In the crash, between Sandhills and Orchards, the truck straddled the road and part of it was over the middle barrier.
Motorists were advised to take alternate routes.
In the second accident, a truck overturned on the N1, about 5km from Worcester on the Touws River side.
Two occupants were slightly injured.
Authorities put in place a stop-go system to enable motorists to skirt the accident.
The scenic Chapman's Peak Drive was also closed on Wednesday morning, due to a rockfall.
