De Oliveira told News24 that they discovered two new variants.

"We have now detected the B.1.1.7 variant, found in the UK, in Cape Town, but we believe there is no reason to be concerned. We have also detected a new variant that emerged in the UK and Uganda, called the A.23.1, in Nelson Mandela Bay."
