Out of the 38 proposed resolutions at the DA conference, 15 relate, some way or another, to the environment.

Among the other notable resolutions are a proposal for rent control in metros governed by the DA, two resolutions protecting the LGBTIQ+ community, a resolution calling for an end to farm attacks and murders, and one to provide tax relief to citizens and reduce government spending.

The 2 039 delegates to the virtual conference, which started on Saturday morning, will discuss the resolutions on Sunday morning. Among the green resolutions is one proposed by DA interim leader and candidate for federal leader, John Steenhuisen, who proposed a resolution titled "Securing the Energy Future of South African Citizens and Addressing the Climate Crisis".
