‘Ditch ballot papers and invest in e-voting’: Lekota’s call for electoral reform

"Let's ditch the ballot paper and get voting with a ballot card."

That is the plea from Cope leader Mosiuoa Lekota who presented the framework of his proposed Electoral Amendment Bill 2020 to Parliament's Home Affairs Committee on Tuesday.

Lekota and Mmusi Maimane's OneSA Movement have been championing a complete overhaul of South Africa's electoral system after the Constitutional Court declared the Electoral Act unconstitutional.
