Western Cape police have asked the public for help in tracking down a man who allegedly robbed a movie crew of equipment worth an estimated R4 million in Gardens, Cape Town.

A group of suspects who pretended to be customers allegedly robbed a camera studio situated at Glenville Terrace, Gardens, Cape Town on Friday 13 November at about 09:15, holding the staff at gunpoint.

"They took high quality lenses, cameras and other movie making equipment worth an estimated R4 million and fled the scene in two motor vehicles, a white Toyota Etios and a brown Toyota Corolla", police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk said.

He said that the incident was captured on the CCTV cameras and one of the suspects was recognisable in stills.

A business robbery case is under investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of this suspect is kindly requested to contact the investigating officer Detective Sergeant Isaac Tshabalala on 067 713 5460 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
