Durban - A man drowned at the Lucky Linton farm dam in Durban on Sunday evening, IPSS Medical Rescue confirmed.

IPSS and the Umhlali police K9 Search and Rescue responded to a drowning in progress and on arrival found the 26-year-old man had already gone underwater, IPSS spokesperson Paul Herbst said.

“The IPSS aquatic team together with police’s K9 unit did an in-water search and the body was recovered 50 metres from the side approximately 2 metres deep,” he said.

“As per witnesses, a group of people were having a braai this evening when the victim decided to go for a swim and got into difficulty.”
