Tzaneen - A Limpopo man who allegedly abducted a woman, stabbed her to death and left her body in a wheelbarrow appeared briefly in the Bolobedu Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old man, Ngwako Mathipa, was arrested at the weekend.
He was remanded in custody until December 17 for a formal bail application.
Mathipa is facing a murder charge after the body of Dikeledi Mahasha was allegedly found in his yard.
Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe said Mathipa allegedly went to the deceased's home at the nearby village of Mohlomeng, where he threatened her with a knife and forcefully took her to his home at Ga-Madumane.
"She was later found dead inside a wheelbarrow," said Ngoepe, adding that a post mortem would reveal whether she had been raped.
He added that Mathipa had multiple wounds to her body.
