Cape Town – A man was lucky to escape injury after his car ended up in a tree in Pietermaritzburg, paramedics said on Sunday.

It is believed the man lost control of his vehicle, hit a pole, crashed through a fence and landed the vehicle more than a metre high up in a tree, said ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing.

Paramedics rushed to Mayors Walk Road on Saturday night and found the man, in his 30s, still in the vehicle.
