Embattled presidential spokesperson Khusela Diko and Gauteng Health MEC Bandile Masuku have been instructed to remain on a leave of absence for a further two weeks.

This after a marathon ANC provincial executive committee (PEC) meeting, which ended abruptly on Monday, resolved that the integrity commission report which probed their link to a procurement scandal in the Gauteng health department was inconclusive and needed further probing.

The meeting, which heard heated argument, focused on deliberating on a report by the ANC provincial integrity commission (PIC) into the scandal involving Diko, Masuku and his wife, Loyiso, who have been at the centre of corruption claims linked to the awarding of a multi-million rand personal protective equipment (PPE) tender to Diko's husband, Chief Madzikane Diko II.
