A councillor accused of attempted murder and another who made derogatory comments against the gay community have been asked to step aside by the regional task team in Nelson Mandela Bay.
In a report by the regional task team (RTT) to the provincial executive committee (PEC), it recommended that councillors Lehlohonolo Mfana and Lunga Nombexeza step aside.
President Cyril Ramaphosa had made a stern warning during his January 8 statement that ANC members who refuse to step aside will be suspended.
