South Africa's overworked, and often underpaid, police officers will not be getting salary increases for the next three years.

Police Minister Bheki Cele confirmed the "expenditure ceiling for compensation of employees" as he delivered his budget vote speech in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) on Wednesday.
