
Johannesburg – A man was killed and a teenage boy critically injured when their microlight crashed in Alrode, Alberton, on Wednesday, paramedics said.
Emer-G-Med spokesperson Max Cohen said paramedics found the aircraft and its two passengers had crashed into a veld.
The middle-aged pilot died on the scene. The 16-year-old passenger was critically injured. He sustained massive head and chest trauma and multiple fractures. He was taken to Netcare Union Hospital.
The cause was still unknown.
