Over 360 arrested for sex crimes in just one month in KZN

Durban – More than 360 people were arrested for sexual related crimes in just one month in KwaZulu-Natal, police said on Wednesday.

The 363 arrests were made by various Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences units in the province during December and resulted in 25 convictions, police said.

Spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said in a statement that the suspects were arrested for crimes including rape, sexual assault, kidnapping, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, attempted rape and abduction.
