PICS: Arms cache buried in Cape Town cemetery

Cape Town - A bag containing various arms and explosives was uncovered in a cemetery in Kleinvlei, Cape Town, Western Cape police said on Wednesday.

The bag was found buried in Welmoed cemetery on Tuesday night, Lieutenant-Colonel Andre Traut said.

It contained a hunting rifle with a telescope, a silencer, a smoke grenade, stun grenade, seven detonators, three R4 rifle magazines and various rounds of ammunition.

Two blasting caps were wrapped in a Zimbabwean newspaper. Some of the items were known to be used in ATM explosions.

No one had yet been arrested.
