The SA National Defence Force says its former chief, General Solly Shoke, was "very upset" about the expensive alcohol that was served at his retirement party in Bloemfontein.

This comes after a video surfaced on social media of the tables at the dinner, which were laden with bottles of expensive alcohol. The brands included Jameson 18-year-old Limited Reserve Irish Whiskey in a gift box, which retails for more than R1 700 and Johnnie Walker Green Label, that costs more than R800 a bottle.
