The South African Weather Service issued a warning for damaging waves and wind between Saldanha Bay and Plettenberg Bay until Sunday evening.

Extreme fire danger warnings have also been issued for the central and eastern parts of the North West province, as well as the eastern parts of the Free State.

Additionally, an intense cold front will result in very cold, wet and windy conditions over the Karoo Highland and Hantam Local Municipality in the Northern Cape and the interior of the Western Cape, as well as over Sneeuberg and Winterberg in the Eastern Cape.

In these regions, there is potential for light snow on the high grounds until Sunday morning.

Gauteng will be fine and warm.

Mpumalanga can expect fine and cool to warm weather.

It will be fine and warm in Limpopo.

The North West will be fine and warm.

Cold conditions will prevail in the south-west of the Free State, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm weather.

It will be fine in the north-east, with isolated showers and thundershowers over the southern part.

The Northern Cape will be partly cloudy and cold to cool, with isolated showers in the west and isolated thundershowers in the extreme south-east, otherwise fine conditions.

The wind along the coast will be light south-westerly to southerly from the afternoon.

It will be partly cloudy to cloudy and cold, with early morning showers in the east of the Western Cape. Isolated to scattered showers and rain are expected from the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to north-westerly, but strong along the south-west coast.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be cloudy and cold to very cold, with isolated showers and rain in places, but scattered showers along the coast.

Light snowfalls can be expected over the high mountains.

The wind along the coast will be moderate westerly, becoming south-westerly in the afternoon.

The Eastern half of the Eastern Cape will experience cloudy and cold to very cold conditions, with isolated showers and rain in places, but scattered showers along the coast.

Light snowfall can be expected over the high mountains in the evening.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be fine in the north at first, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and warm, but cool in the south, where isolated showers and rain are expected.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly, becoming easterly to north-easterly north of Durban in the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
