A Gauteng teenager has been seriously injured after being crushed under a tyre at an East Rand school.
At around midday on Monday, paramedics were called to attend to an incident at a high school on the East Rand, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst.
"Reports indicate that a group of friends were playing roller games with a large tyre when it became unbalanced, landing on a 14-year-old male," he said.
A nearby sports coach heard the calls for help and managed to lift the tyre off the boy.
injured teen was treated and stabilised on the scene by paramedics and then
flown via helicopter to a specialist medical facility, said Herbst.
