Thursday's weather: South Africa warms up to spring

The South African Weather Service has issued a warning of extremely high fire danger conditions expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the south-western parts of the North West, the western parts of the Free State, as well as the northern parts of the Eastern Cape.

The weather in your province   

Gauteng will be fine and warm.

The expected UVB sunburn index very high.

There will be morning fog patches on the southern and eastern Highveld of Mpumalanga, otherwise fine and cool to warm but partly cloudy in the east. It will be cloudy along the escarpment in the morning with drizzle.

Limpopo will be cloudy in places in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but cool along the escarpment, where morning drizzle can be expected.

It will become fine over the western and central parts from the afternoon.

Fine and warm conditions can be expected in the North West.

It will be fine and warm in the Free State, but cool along the Lesotho border .

Cloudy and cool conditions can be expected along the coast of the Northern Cape with morning fog patches, otherwise fine and warm.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly.

The Western Cape will have morning fog patches over the north-eastern interior, otherwise fine and warm but partly cloudy and cool along the west coast and adjacent interior.

The wind along the coast will be strong easterly in the south, otherwise fresh north-westerly in the west and south-west, becoming strong in the afternoon. 

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.

On the western half of the Eastern Cape, it will be cloudy in places south of escarpment at first with morning fog patches, otherwise fine and warm, but partly cloudy along the coast.

The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh in the evening. 

The eastern half will be cloudy in places in the south with morning fog patches, otherwise fine and cool to warm, but partly cloudy along the coast.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be partly cloudy in the morning with fog over the interior, otherwise fine and warm.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.
