The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours and strong damaging winds in the south eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the western parts of North West province.

The weather in your region:

Gauteng will be fine and warm. The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.

It will be partly cloudy in the east of Mpumalanga at first, otherwise fine and cool to warm.

Partly cloudy conditions will prevail in the east of Limpopo at first, otherwise it will be fine and warm.

It will be hot in the south-western Bushveld.

The North West will be fine and warm to hot.

Fine and warm to hot conditions will prevail in the Free State, but skies will be partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers and thundershowers.

The Northern Cape will be very hot in the north, otherwise partly cloudy, windy and warm to hot, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

It will be cloudy along the south coast of the Western Cape in the morning and evening, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but cool along the coastal areas.

The wind along the coast will be light easterly along the south coast in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

The western half of the Eastern Cape is expected to be cloudy in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly, becoming easterly in the evening.

It will be cloudy south of the escarpment in the eastern half of the province, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered showers in the east.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly, becoming moderate to fresh easterly to north-easterly in the evening.

Morning fog will occur in places over the southern interior of KwaZulu-Natal.

It will be partly cloudy and warm but hot in areas over the interior.

Isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers are expected over the southern parts.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to northeasterly, becoming south-westerly south of Richards Bay in the evening. The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.
