The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms over the south of Limpopo, east of the Free State, North West, Gauteng and the central and southern parts of Mpumalanga.

The weather in your region:

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and cool, with widespread showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.

It will be cloudy and cool to warm, with widespread showers and thundershowers in Mpumalanga.

There will be scattered showers in the east.

Partly cloudy and warm conditions will prevail in Limpopo, becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The North West will be partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers.

The extreme east will be cloudy with widespread showers.

It will be partly cloudy and cool to warm, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers over the central and the eastern parts of the Free State.

There will be widespread showers in the extreme north-east, where it will be cloudy.

The west of the Northern Cape will be fine, otherwise, the province will be partly cloudy and warm to hot.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-easterly until late morning, becoming moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.

Skies will be partly cloudy and cool to warm in the Western Cape. It will be hot in the eastern parts of the Little Karoo.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-westerly north of Gansbaai, but fresh to strong north of Cape Columbine in the afternoon.

Otherwise, the wind will be light and variable but moderate southerly to south-easterly.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy and cool to warm.

Coastal wind will be moderate to fresh westerly to south-westerly, becoming north-easterly in the evening.

It will be partly cloudy and cool to warm with light rain in places over the eastern half of the province.

There will be isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-east.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, becoming north-easterly in the evening.

Morning fog will occur over the interior of KwaZulu-Natal, otherwise, it will be cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

There will be scattered showers in the west.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly, becoming south-easterly to easterly in the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
