North West police and the Randfontein Flying Squad arrested two suspects on Thursday for kidnapping, murdering and carjacking a couple.

The suspects, aged 25 and 26, were arrested in Randfontein and Setlopo Village, Mahikeng after reports of a man and woman believed to be in a relationship were found dead in a bush in Dithakong East Village last weekend.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said the dead man's stolen Toyota Quantum minibus was found stripped in Lenasia, Gauteng.

"It was established during investigations that the girlfriend’s body was found with some body parts missing,” said Mokgwabone.

The couple police had identified as Macdonald Stevens,48, and his girlfriend, Baitibadi Maduna,42,  were reported missing last week. They were last seen alive on Thursday, 16 June at Stevens' place in Mapetla section, Setlopo Village.
