Johannesburg - Two armed men were killed in the Kruger National Park on Wednesday during a shoot-out with game rangers after they refused to surrender, the SA National Parks (Sanparks) said.

Rangers were alerted to the men after two separate sets of visitors told them they had seen a man armed with what looked like a hunting rifle walking through the park, said KNP spokesperson, Reynold Thakuli.

The park's management then deployed a helicopter to find the man. While rangers were in the air, they discovered two men making their way through the veld.
