Pretoria - A group of security guards working at the University of SA (Unisa) has been fired after taking part in a protest against outsourcing, an EFF student leader said on Wednesday.

The guards, employed by the Red Alert security company, were sacked for participating in Monday's strike, Mpho Morolane told News24.

"We are not going to leave this issue. We are not going to let our parents be expelled for raising a genuine concern," he said.
