Cape Town - The wife of an international real estate company head was arrested at Cape Town International Airport after a "small quantity of dagga" was found in her luggage, police said on Friday.
The 67-year-old woman was arrested around 08:00 on Thursday, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said.
Members of the border policing unit found the dagga in her luggage during a routine search.
"The suspect was charged with possession of dagga and she made a court appearance in Bellville on the same day, where the charge against her was withdrawn," Rwexana said.
It was not immediately clear why the charge was withdrawn.
Netwerk24 reported that she had arrived in Cape Town from Johannesburg and that 10g of dagga was found. Her lawyer did not answers calls to his cellphone on Thursday.
