No public funds were used to redesign the logo of the newly renamed Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality in Mbizana.

On Wednesday, Mayor Daniswa Mafumbatha revealed the municipality simply added an old picture of her, sourced from the Government Communication Information Services (GCIS), to the old logo previously used by it before the renaming.

The new logo raised eyebrows and drew widespread ire on social media, with many wanting to know how much the local government authority spent on the redesign while others questioned if it was put together by an amateur, teenager or professional.
