Woman, 81, pleads guilty after dagga plants found in her garden

Bhisho - An 81-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to possession of dagga plants was warned and released after appearing in the Willowvale Magistrate's Court on Friday, Eastern Cape police said.

Nowezile Mncoko was arrested on Wednesday after officers spotted the dagga plants growing in her garden in Mente village, Captain Jackson Manatha said.

Officers uprooted them and charged her with possession. The eight confiscated plants had an estimated street value of R2500.
