Cape Town - A young woman was airlifted off Table Mountain on Saturday following health concerns, ER24 said on Sunday.

"She was] unable to complete a hike due to pain she was experiencing," said the paramedic services spokesperson Chitra Bodasing in a statement.

"Air Mercy Services' helicopter, SkyMed, was activated to airlift the woman off the mountain."

Once down the mountain, the woman, believed to be in her 20s, was transported to hospital for further treatment.
