Cape Town – A woman died in the early hours of Monday morning, following a collision between an Audi and a BMW in Delft South.
Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the two vehicles several metres apart. The woman who was in the Audi had sustained fatal injuries.
"Sadly, there was nothing that paramedics could do for her and she was declared dead on the scene," ER24’s Werner Vermaak said in a statement.
The Jaws of Life had to be used to free a seriously injured man who was trapped in the BMW.
Eight other people were also injured in the collision.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene and would conduct an investigation.
