Excitement for aviation fanatics as old Boeing seats go on sale

Cape Town - For the ultimate aviation fans, the ultimate dream has come true as they are now capable of having their very own, personal and private Boeing 747 seat.

This comes after Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) has decided to start selling seats from a decommissioned 747-400D.

The plane which seats are being sold, was used on domestic routes in Japan, and was retired in March 2014, reports CNN. The seats have gone on sale from December 25 to February 28, 2015.

Fanatics, however, would have to dish up quite a few dollars to be able to sit in first class style at home. There are also only a total of 7 premium class seat sets available - 3 single seats and 4 double ones. The single seat is listed at R64 000 (as calculated from 647 000 yen on 15 January 2015) and about R74 000 (from 747 000 yen) for the double.
