SA's top barmen to battle it out

Cape Town mixologist, Johan Blaauw, was the winner of the regional final of the Diageo Reserve World Class Bartender of the Year 2013 at the One & Only Cape Town Hotel, in which the city’s best mixologists went head to head to shake their creative blends.

Nick Koumbarakis from Orphanage, in the national finals of the competition to be held in Durban later this month in a bid to become South Africa’s World Class representative.

The National finals will take place at Durban’s Endless Horizon Hotel from May 29-30. The finals will be judged by hospitality industry leaders including SA Master Chef Judge, Peter Goffe-Wood.  South Africa’s top mixologist will then join other international finalists (chosen from 15 000 entrants from 50 regions worldwide) to mix it out for the title of Diageo Reserve World Class Bartender of the Year 2013.

The winner will be decided on board a cruise, headed to Nice, Monaco, St Tropez, Ibiza and Barcelona - Watch the teaser below:
