The awards are measured by conducting surveys with travellers around the world in more than 550 airports. Airports were graded on the experience of travellers across 39 key performance indicators.

This is Cape Town's third consecutive win as top African Airport, and came 21st on the overall top 100 list, dropping two spots from 2017. King Shaka came 26th, having jumped nine spots compared to last year and was also voted as having the Best Airport Staff in Africa. OR Tambo International Airport landed in the 32nd spot after climbing five spots.

Deidre Davids, Corporate Affairs Senior Manager for Cape Town International Airport, is delighted by the recognition.

"This Skytrax accolade recognises Cape Town International Airport’s continued efforts to improve the customer experience. It is furthermore an acknowledgement of the commitment of our management and staff to making the experience for our local and ever-growing number of international travellers an exceptional one.”
