
Cape Town - Durban's King Shaka International Airport clinched the number one spot as Best Regional Airport in Africa, as well as coming third as World's Best Regional Airport, while Cape Town International Airport won first place as Best Airport in Africa.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards took place in Stockholm on Wednesday where the aviation industry competed for a spot on the top 100 list of best airports in the world.

The awards are measured by conducting surveys with travellers around the world in more than 550 airports. Airports were graded on the experience of travellers across 39 key performance indicators.
This is Cape Town's third consecutive win as top African Airport, and came 21st on the overall top 100 list, dropping two spots from 2017. King Shaka came 26th, having jumped nine spots compared to last year and was also voted as having the Best Airport Staff in Africa. OR Tambo International Airport landed in the 32nd spot after climbing five spots.

East London, Bloemfontein and Port Elizabeth's airports also landed in the top four spots for Best Regional Airports in Africa.
