Alt-music fans should save the date for the West Coast’s Endless Daze festival

Calling all party people to the forefront, the Endless Daze Festival is soon upon us!

Quick rundown:

  • WHEN: Friday, 2 - Sunday, 4 November 2018
  • WHERE: Silwerstroom Resort, West Coast - which is 45 minutes outside of Cape Town.
  • COST: General Presale Tickets cost R750 and Tickets at the door cost R950 - both ticket types are for a full weekend pass only and can be bought in advance here.

What started out as a passion project to foster a new and inclusive alt music culture in SA of five friends from the Mother City - 'Psych Night' have since established themselves in the outdoor music world.

Psych Night started hosting small-scale events in 2012, which rapidly grew into being able to tour their first international act in South Africa. Over the years Psych Night debuted the Cape Town Inner City Fest and in 2016 it launched Endless Daze Festival.

You can expect, "vibrant colours, music and people all around and a nearly spiritual type of experience".

Still dreaming about last night ??? Round 2, let’s go ??

Going Green

This year, the festival is joining hands with The Beach Co-Op, to help improve the environmental footprint of the event. Previous events featured an encouragement of lift shares to the festival and Endless Daze plans to continue to do so this year.

Additionally, the organisers are setting an agenda to reduce the amount of waste generated at the festival, particularly when it comes to plastic. They said that an increased effort will be made when working with the food vendors, the bar and the waste management team to help achieve this.

But there will also be a an opportunity to get green and dirty with a planned beach clean up at the festival, coordinated by the Beach Co-op. The Dirty Dozen methodology will also enlighten participants, as the methodology details the 12 most commonly found items on the beach and encourages you to focus on reducing  the impact of those items when back home.

There will also be a beach clean up and pre-party in Cape Town in September (International Coastal Cleanup month) in celebration of the partnership to warm you up for Endless Daze 2018! Expect prizes up for grabs, including: festival tickets with Vans and Psych Night hampers if you attend the clean-up pre-party.

Today is the last day of #plasticfreejuly and we have had a busy month! We would not have been able to do it without your support – Thank you! Read more about the 31 ZA influencers that pledged to no longer use single-use plastic shopping bags (link in bio). We partnered with @stasher, @Twyg and @2oceansaquarium. We participated in 11 cleanups this month and received #dirtydozen data for 8 of the beach cleanups. The highest #dirtydozen item collected this month was straws - 3214. As you know, there are many alternatives to straws provided by @streamstraws and @wecarecollective but if you can AVOID using a straw then that would be first prize. The second #dirtydozen item was cooldrink lids, 3185 of them, the solution is to always try and carry a reusable bottle with you, @earthwarriorsa has a beautiful reusable bottle for hot and cold drinks. Additionally, try AVOID buying bottled water by using your @kurobocharcoal natural water filters with a reusable bottle. Thirdly we collected 2874 individual sweet wrappers. Most beachfront restaurants serve individually wrapped sweets after you’ve had a meal. This is unnecessary packaging that cannot be recycled and lasts forever, after being used only once. Have a conversation with the manager and ask them to AVOID buying these sweets and or to purchase a sweet dispenser, which would solve the hygiene issues some people have. We are thrilled to have @sealandgear provide bags for us to collect litter in – at the end of the cleanups we decant the litter into bags provided by @plastics.sa. A big thank you to all our partners that contributed to keeping our SA beaches cleaner and those that donated prizes - @greenpopsa @surf4trash @wecarecollective #Foster #soult #AlgoaBayHopespot @sanccobec18 @wwfsouthafrica @kznbeachcleanup @bellovistaproductions @reliance_compost @trailfreedivers #orcaindustries @seathebiggerpicture_ocean @sugarbeanshaz @capetowndivecentre @captownfreediving @caperadd @falsebayunderwater @secretsunrisecpt @thejoymovementorg @back2nature_sa @thejoinerysa #enviropaedia @weactforchange @kaskazikayaks @shopzero.sa @mevrouandco @africansoulsurfer
