Cape Town - Besides delighting us with a winter wonderland this winter, the recent Winterfest at Afriski Mountain Resort saw three days of live electronic and acoustic music, tubing, bum-boarding, snowboarding, and of course skiing in Lesotho.
For its second year running, skiers and festival goers headed to the resort to end off the Ski season on a 3 000m high in the Mountain Kingdom.
With four intimate stages featuring some of Africa's hottest artists including Lesotho’s very own Black Sparrow and DJ Mo Cheques, to South Africa’s Shortstraw, Grassy Spark, Kyle Watson, House Hold Funk, Shorty on Sax, Bad Peter, Simpl3 Stori3s and many more. 5FM’s popular DJ, Nick Hammon, also joined the lineup and MC’d the crowd through the weekend. An incredible lineup enticed both South African festival goers and skiers, as well as locals who joined in on the festivities on each day.
“It was fantastic to offer this mix of snow and music fun and adventure to Afriski’s winter season. We look forward to bringing this to you next year again with BAM events,”Peter Peyper, Afriski Director.
