Airline innovation

The Apex awards provided various categories and when considering the winners, the focus was on innovation in an existing programme. The awards ceremony took place on 25 September in California and acknowledged developments within the industry

Travellers were able to have their say in the passenger awards. They were allowed to rate airlines on a 5-star scale through the use of the Triplt app. Results were tallied over votes from October 2017 to July 2017. The four and five star rated airline winners were awarded in the carriers of global, major regional and low-cost carriers.

Our local winners

The global five-star rated airline winners were announced and luckily for us they frequent our South African airports – some of these airlines were Emirates, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways and Turkish Airlines.

The four-star rated airlines featured South African Airways as a winner and shared the accolade with among others British Airways, Air France, Vietnam Airlines and American Airlines.
