Cape Town - An astronaut has tweeted the most amazing picture of South Africa from outer space - gathering over two thousand retweets and over four thousand likes – a view like this proves SA is smoking hot.
Astronaut Scott Kelly even sent a shout out to Cape Town right at the tip.
Kelly, 51, an engineer and retired US Navy Captain – has been part of NASA since 1996, having completed a total of three flights to outer space, says Tech Times.
Currently, Kelly is currently part of a study that evaluates space in correlation to human health - the data gathered will be used in future space missions. The astronauts will only return home in March 2016 – which will add up to having spent a total of 522 days in space.
In his most recent tweets, he posted photos of Dubai, South Africa and South India. On 15 November, Kelly shared a picture of Paris he took from outer space after the devastating attacks.
"#SouthAfrica You always have a way of showing something beautiful right down to the tip of your cape. #YearInSpace"
"Shocked & saddened by terrorist attacks on #Paris Standing with #France from @space_station. Our thoughts are w you."
"Nothing like a little #aurora to get things started. Good morning from @space_station! #YearInSpace"
