WATCH: Zuma makes ridiculous comment about the size of the African continent

Cape Town - Africa is one of the richest continents in the world when it comes to natural resources and amazing wildlife experiences. Admittedly, Paleoanthropology's "out of Africa" theory suggests that modern humans originate from this spectacular continent.

But what we know for sure is that it's not the biggest continent. Yet, South Africa's head of state, Jacob Zuma said exactly this during a speech delivered last week to billionaire Patrice Motsepe and around 50 of his friends during a business conference in Johannesburg.

Watch the video below, where Zuma says, "This continent is the biggest continent in the world, not separated by a river. The rivers that are there flow with the continent. They don’t cut it in half or quarter. All continents together would fit into Africa." Read Zuma's full speech here.

We can only hope he was speaking metaphorically, since Africa is 30.22 million km² and has a population of 1.111 billion, while Asia, which is 44.58 million km² and has a population of 4.427 billion.

To add insult to injury, here are a few hard pressed facts about Africa you might not know...
