How UCT's Health Science faculty protested peacefully for change

The student movement at UCT's Health Sciences Faculty (#occupyFHS) celebrated on Tuesday after demands were met with an elected staff task team, through "continuous and transparent" negotiations.

Med students said they wanted this to show that "it is possible to instigate meaningful discussion and change towards a decolonised faculty, with the end goal of free education for all."

We also spoke to student leaders about the potential void in health services, should students be prevented from graduating this year due to campus shutdowns. Watch.
