An Eastern Cape truck driver escaped unscathed after service delivery protesters hurled bricks through his windshield on Wednesday evening.
General manager at Premier Logistics Solutions, Andre Helberg, told News24 the incident took place in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth.
Helberg said no one was injured.
He said the truck was only five kilometres from its final destination when protesters flung the bricks through the windshield.
Helberg estimated that the damage could cost R100 000.
Long distance truckers told News24 the incident was at least the fourth of its kind in the area in recent weeks.
A truck driver was brutally killed on Monday in KwaZulu-Natal.
