Members of the National Coronavirus Command Council, led by Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, will give a detailed briefing on the regulations relating to the Covid-19 Level 4 restrictions tonight at 19:30.
South Africa, now in its 34th day of a nationwide lockdown, is gearing up to ease the lockdown by moving from Level 5 to a Level 4 as of 1 May.
During the weekend, Dlamini-Zuma said that a curfew would be implemented from 20:00 to 05:00. She also said wearing face masks in public would be mandatory.
President Cyril Ramaphosa said last week that the sale of cigarettes would be allowed from 1 May. Bars and shebeens would however remain closed, as well as cinemas, concerts and theatres, conferences and social gatherings.
It is expected that some 1.5 million people will return to the workforce on Level 4.
