A security guard was killed and three people were injured during a cash-in-transit robbery in Gugulethu, Cape Town on Monday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Brenda Muridili told News24 that the perpetrators disarmed the security officer before they bombed the cash-in-transit van.
The robbers took an undisclosed amount of money and fled.
Two men, aged 19 and 36, were arrested for the possession of a firearm. The weapon was identified as one of the guns taken during the robbery.
An investigation is under way.
