Mogadishu - Police say people are trapped under the rubble of a hotel that was largely destroyed when a massive truck bomb exploded in Somalia's capital.

The Safari Hotel is close to Somalia's foreign ministry.

Rescue workers are on the scene.

Police say 20 people were killed in the explosion in Mogadishu and at least 15 were injured.

There has been no claim of responsibility but the al-Shabaab extremist group often targets high-profile locations in the capital.
