President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Wednesday evening the country's highly anticipated move to Level 1 of the lockdown which will see relaxed liquor sales and curfew regulations as well as the reopening of borders. 

In a televised address, Ramaphosa said exactly half a year had passed since the country declared a national state of disaster in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
