The 2020 matric examinations, or national senior certificate (NSC) examinations, are set to be the most unprecedented in South Africa's history, complicated by the Covid-19 pandemic and the national lockdown.
Not only will a higher number of candidates complete the examinations, but special precautions have to be taken to limit the spread of Covid-19.
Matriculants also lost a considerable portion of their planned school calendar year when the country entered a hard lockdown in March.
