Five months after South Africa declared a national state of disaster to combat the novel coronavirus, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the country will move to lockdown Level 2 from midnight on Monday.

In a televised address on Saturday, Ramaphosa said the ban on liquor and tobacco sales will be lifted, and that friends and family visits will again be permitted.
