Over the weekend reports emerged that investigators from the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture has issued subpoenas to major banks to investigate the banking records of Police Minister Bheki Cele, and EFF leader Julius Malema.

Both Cele and Malema say they are unaware of the subpoenas, and it remains unclear with regards to what the commission is investigating the political figures for.
