More than a million members of South Africa’s largest trade federation Cosatu are set to embark on a nationwide strike on Wednesday to address the ongoing wage dispute with the government, and Covid-19 related corruption.

This as Saftu, the country’s second-largest trade union, is also planning a nationwide strike with pickets on the same day, with Numsa’s strike action already disrupting Gautrain services on Monday.
