Commissions of inquiry: Do they lead anywhere…ever?

Qaanitah Hunter, News24’s political editor, wrote in her column on Thursday that she promised herself that she wasn’t going to mention the ANC and corruption again. But she couldn’t help herself: the governing party has again shown its contempt for good governance and the taxpayer by giving former eThekwini Metro mayor Zandile Gumede a seat in the KwaZulu-Natal provincial legislature. This despite her standing trial on charges of corruption involving more than R200-million.
