Judges Willie Seriti and Hendrik Musi found that there was "no evidence" of corruption in South Africa’s multibillion rand Arms Deal - despite clear proof to the contrary. Now they'll have to answer to claims that they orchestrated a whitewash, writes Karyn Maughan.

The judges who presided over the invalidated Arms Inquiry will have to answer to allegations that they actively sought to whitewash the clear evidence of corruption presented to them - or face possible impeachment and criminal charges.

Following an unprecedented decision by the Judicial Service Commission's Conduct Committee chair, Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, Judges Willie Seriti and Hendrik Musi will be called to account for their handling of the R137 million Arms Deal Commission, which ultimately found that there was no evidence of corruption in South Africa's multi-billion rand Arms Deal.
