Prosecutor Billy Downer has accused Jacob Zuma - who insists he is wholly innocent of any Arms Deal corruption - of again trying to use political conspiracy claims against the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to avoid standing trial, writes Karyn Maughan.

Prosecutor advocate Billy Downer has rejected Jacob Zuma's claims he was aware of "foreign intelligence" involvement in the former president's corruption prosecution, and says there is no legal basis to his latest bid for acquittal.
