After months of deliberations, ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the party's national executive committee (NEC) decided that all party members facing corruption charges have to step aside or face suspension. 

This followed a weekend of intense deliberations of the NEC which saw Ramphosa's original address on Sunday evening being postponed as the body could not come to a consensus.
